Our mission is to EMPOWER one million children by February 19, 2027!

At My Friend the Boulder, we believe every child has the power to turn their challenges into triumphs. Through our magical stories and school visits, we inspire children to see their differences as superpowers and show them that resilience, compassion, and courage are the keys to unlocking their unique magic. By February 19, 2027—11 years after the boulder changed Schuyler’s life—our goal is to reach one million children with the message that their “flaws” and “scars” are actually the source of their strength and joy. Together, we’re creating a generation of changemakers ready to embrace their light and share it with the world.

Welcome to the Magical World of My Friend the Boulder! The new inspiring children’s book series!

Have you ever wondered what makes someone truly magical? Is it their strength? Their sparkle? Or could it be something hidden deep inside—something only they can share with the world?

Welcome to the My Friend the Boulder series, where the enchanting Magic Valley comes alive with stories that teach children (and grown-ups!) the beauty of kindness, courage, and embracing what makes us unique.

Here’s why we are so excited about this project:

About Meridith and Schuyler and their MY FRIEND THE BOULDER CHILDREN’S BOOK SERIES:

Co-authored by Schuyler Arakawa, Ms. Wheelchair Florida 2025 (and Ms. Congeniality award winner at both Ms. Wheelchair Florida and Ms. Wheelchair America), and her mom, Meridith Alexander, award winning executive coach, speaker and an expert on mindset and communication, this My Friend the Boulder children’s book series was born from an extraordinary real-life journey.

While on a Yale fellowship building schools and working with native populations around the world, Schuyler was struck by a falling boulder, resulting in a traumatic brain injury and a wheelchair. But instead of seeing it as a tragedy, Schuyler and Meridith turned this challenge into a heartfelt mission to inspire others. Their stories redefine disability as a form of magic, showing kids and adults alike that our differences are what make us powerful.

Join us, Schuyler “Sachi” Arakawa (aka Princess Happiness) and Meridith Alexander (aka the Wise Fairy of the Valley), as we bring these stories to life with read-alouds at your school and inspiring insights that will uplift your students and teachers alike. These books are filled with lovable characters and life lessons that teach emotional intelligence, self-worth, mindfulness, and the courage to embrace every part of who you are.

Book your visit now to spark conversations, build confidence, and inspire our future generations to see challenges not as obstacles, but as opportunities to grow and shine. Because the magic we’re searching for? It’s already within us. ✨
