So what if you woke up today and you bumped into some sort of obstacle that made your heart dip? Is it “ok” to feel a crunch?

We often have a tendency to really beat ourselves up if we feel a negative emotion about something, but obstacles and negative emotions can be important beacons worth looking at. There is a very specific value to what Esther Hicks calls the contrast in our lives. Clarity, for example, is a critical component of finding our happiness. We must know what we don’t want as clearly and passionately as what we know we do want.

How often have you discovered that something that felt awful to live through at the time actually lead to a breakthrough for you? Most successful people credit the hurdles rather than the cozy moments for making their success possible.

So don’t beat yourself up for being less than bouncy on occasion and yet don’t wallow in the “awfulness” of this obstacle either. Look for the gift and opportunity in this moment and then look ahead to the realm of possibilities. Ask yourself “where will this obstacle lead me once that I am beyond this?” “What might I be able to achieve once this is behind me?”

Today is part of the grand celebration of all that is you. Own it. Live it. Cherish it. You cannot get it wrong so get out there and dance!
